Has any body used the ASI174MC to capture any bright DSO and how was the result?
People did. Just pick a surface bright DSO like globular cluster, some planetary nebulae and catch few hundred or thousands of 1-few sec exposed frames...

Would you have to use an Equatorial mount or would a AZ mount be ok?
