Sam,

I'm ready to order the new 224 camera. Does the camera have a cover over the chip and does the IR filter you sell for $ 22 screw in as an internal filter or external ? I would like my chip covered inside the camera for some protection from dust.

Also can do you feel the 850 filter might be helpful for lunar imaging?

Lastly will the camera be shipped as promised before August 1. ?

ASI224 has a clear glass protection cover. For visual imaging you will need a plain IR/UV cut filter. For IR imaging you could use the 850 nm filter but I would say it will be to dark for max-resolution imaging even with a mono camera. Use wider filters, like red visual filter if needed.

but we do have IR CUT protect window if you want such internal filter

just not convenient

850nm filter I think is suitable for moon

Thanks Sam I will place my order tomorrow morning. Can you give me an idea when the camera will be available for shipment? I have an IR filter so it posses no concern. Just wanted to confirm the sensor is covered so the stock window is fine for me.

Also I am interested possibly in the ASI 178 with the six meg image. I would assume a solid state hard drive would be mandatory for that camera?
