ASIAir in Remote Observatory

I have my ASIAir Plus on a rig at a remote observatory. I have remote access via VPN to my device and am able to connect and control imaging sessions. However, the ASIAir picks up the GPS coordinates, date, and time of my local location (from my iPad). This requires me to manually change this information on the ASIAir before starting each imaging session.

Is there any way to have the ASIAir use the same information each time (the remote location)?

rsauerbrun Hello. ASIAIR obtains the coordinates of your phone. If you want to use the coordinates of the remote station, you currently have to enter them manually. I will give your feedback to the development team and provide a remember location function in the future.

this is something i want to try. Can you maybe describe how you achieved this? I assume you have your AsiAir connected to a VPN enabled router, which then allows you to ideally use the "Connect via IP" in the AsiAir startup screen to connect to it directly through the Asi app?

Just curious, to connect to your ASIAIR, I'm assuming you're running the VPN client app on your ipad to connect to the VPN server at the remote observatory?

Are you able to test running the ASIAIR App on a computer (e.g. using BlueStacks 5 to run the ASIAIR App) to see what happens after you had set the location manually in a previous session via the iPad? So you'd connect your computer to the VPN Server.

Just wondering what would happen then.

Corsair Then it asks you to enable it every time you run the app, everytime you go to the Mount "page" and you have to enter the coordinates manually each time.

Corsair I know some people have done that. They spoof their gps coordinates in an android emulator. Most that I know of actually sent a mini pc to the remote obs.

You also gotta be careful of the time. Say you run it from NY to a remote Obs in Texas. The sky atlas and goto functions will go nuts if you don’t set your local device to Texas timezone
