ASI120MM ST4 does not work

Dear support,

I have a ASI120MM and I am not able to guide using its ST4 port. I also have the GPUSB and I can successfully guide with this device. Same cable. ASCOM version 6.1 SP1.

I have installed all drivers all drivers:

The camera is working fine.

I also did the following test:

I have a G11 mount and set the guiding speed to maximum. With a telescope control software I can manually control the RA/DEC axis successfully with GPUSB (ASCOM driver) and I can hearing the mount noise when pressing the control buttons. Selecting the ASI ST4 ASCOM driver I cannot hear no noise at all when pressing the buttons. In other words, the telescope control software does not control the scope using the ASI ST4 port.

Driver vesion 3.4.8.0 checked on Windows Device Manager. Running on a Windows XP computer.

What is going on with the ST4 port?

I am not sure the cable is the same with GPUSB

how about use the cable from us?

how about control the ST4 port from the amcap from the "video capture filter" page

Hi,

I tested the ASI ST4 port successfully using The amcap "video capture filter" pageST4 test page.

The problem now is that I cannot control the mount RA/DEC using the ASI ST4 ASCOM driver.

I have also tried to calibrate using MaximDL and setting both ASI ST4 ASCOM and "guider relay". I cannot see the star moving during calibration process.

What else can I do? The Hardware seems ok but I believe we have a driver/ASCOM problem here.

ASCOM 6.1 SP1 / Windows XP SP3.

have you try our ASCOM camera driver?

do you select the correct camera under "ASI ST4" ASCOM driver?

there are 3 ways to guide

1. native support such like PHD2

2. use our ASCOM Camera driver

3. connect the camera through directshow and use the "ASI ST4 ASCOM" driver

Yes, Using MaximDL I have selected "ASI Cameras ASCOM Driver" when selecting guider camera. I have then selected both options when selecting Output Guider Control Via:

1) ASCOM ASI ST4 Telescope Driver, and

2) Guider relays

When selecting the camara there is no "ASI ST4 ASCOM" but only "ASI Cameras ASCOM".

Using MaximDL Pro 5.

Also using ASCOM Explorer cannot find "ASI ST4" only "ASI Cameras". ASI ST4 only appears under "Telescope Driver" group.

There exists also a "ASI ST4 camera" driver? Maybe I am only using ASI ASCOM Driver with no ST4 support.

in your case, you need to choose

"ASI Cameras ASCOM Driver" + Guider relays

to control your mount through MDL

we provide "ASICamera ST4 Telescope ASCOM" is used to control the mount seperatly

so you can use the camera do other jobs and control the mount through its ST4 from other APP

you can have a look at our manual which provide more detail info about guider under MDL

If you read carefully my previous post I mentioned I have tried to use "ASI Cameras ASCOM Driver" + Guider relays to control my mount through MDL and it did NOT worked.
