Autorun sequence wont start unless I disconnect filter wheel

I'm am having a problem with my autorun sequence in which it won't start unless I uncheck the filter wheel. I have checked the filter wheel and there are no obstructions or binding that I can see, and have tried different USB cables. Not sure why this strange problem is occurring but I am unable to use my filter wheel. It worked fine a few years back and I have not really changed anything. TIA.
