Hello,
despite a very misty night in a marsh and a low elevation of M8, the camera got it. The ASI224MC was in beta test, 8 bits only and a deprecated DLL, in addition the venerable ED telelens shows some chromatism, thus you should consider the image as a simple test of feasibility.
My colleagues and I could barely detect the Milky Way with unaided eye at the zenith.
The future thermoregulated, cooled version of the camera with decent shooting conditions should lead to better results with Halpha as luminance and colour image as chrominance. (I performed successful tests in 6nm narrow bandwidth H-alpha with the uncooled ASI224MC).
Note that the halos around the brightest stars are due to the optics.
No autoguiding.
Nicolas.
