Hi ZWO Astro team.
I have purchased a ZWO ASI 1600MM PRO in 2019. I have used it in about 10 sessions so far without any problems. Pretty happy with my setup using EFW and ASIAir, too. However, my camera cooling stopped working yesterday. Here are the symptoms and what I tried, so far.
Symptoms:
- The power LED is glowing faint red, when I plug in the power cable. No fan action.
- As soon as I plug in the USB cable, the power light turns off. However, imaging still works but still, no fan.
- I assumed the fan was busted, so I exchanged it for a noctua fan, which I tested beforehand. Still no fan action.
I then disconnected the fan from the PCB:
- Power LED stays on, even when I plug in the USB cable.
- As soon as I connect the fan, power LED turns off. Imaging still works, but no fan.
- ASIAir notified me that the camera has no power for cooling.
A few words about my setup and what I tried:
- Different USB cables
- Different Power Supplies
- Connection via ASIAir or directly to my Mac
- I just added the EFW (mini) to my setup, which seems to work just fine. I'm not 100 % sure, but the cooling was working fine before I added the EFW and stopped working closely after.
- I did the tests without the EFW connected
It would appear that something in the power circuits is broken. Given how few times I actually used it (it basically was unused in the past two years), I wouldn't have expected this from a camera that expensive.
What course of action do you suggest to fix this?

P.S.: I did create a repair request, already. Just would like to know if there's anything else I could test, before I ship my (only) camera to a repair site.
