recommended FireCapture settings for ASI224MC

Hello all,

I am a new user of an ASI224MC and have it connected to a Dell Latitude E6430 (running Windows 7) via USB3 connection. Can anyone provide recommended FireCapture settings to get me started on planetary imaging with this camera? I tried SharpCap, but was experiencing lots of dropped frames, so I am not sure whether I had the settings dialed in correctly.

With FireCapture, do I want to have the "HighSpeed" box checked? What about HardwareBin?

Should the 16 bit box be checked?

Any other recommendations?

16bit usually won't needed for planetary imaging

"HighSpeed" and "hardware bin" also don't needed

but ROI usually is needed for planetary imaging

so you can save lots of harddisk space

about drop frames, this is because your harddisk is not very fast

it must drop if you capture at full resolution and in RGB24 format

so RAW8 format is good choice
