I just started using my ASI178MC camera for multi color variable star photometry. I noticed that the FIts files produced by the camera and ASIStudio are 3 dimensional. My questions:
are the 3 planes of each file corresponding to the R, G, and B channels of the Bayer array?
I assume the answer is "yes", but in which combination? (R, G, B) or may be something else as (R, 1/2(G1+G2), B)?
when I stack the 3 planes in a single (gray) image, some software cannot open the resulting file because it appears still as a 3 dimensional one (for example Astrometrica). How could I resolve this problem?
The ASIStudio manual doesn't give enough information.
