Hi, can someone explain why does the frame rate drop right down on a 178mc.
If I use a preview setting of 640 x 480 and at 50ms I get a framerate of 253fps but as soon as I increase the exposure the frame rate starts dropping and if I go into seconds exposure the frame rate drops right down as low as 1fps even less sometimes. I've tried different usb traffic settings, it does not matter which software I use it's always the same.
Also I've noticed I sometimes don't get the same frame rate for the same setting's, sometimes it's half the frame rate 253fps and when I come out of the program and restart it I may get only 128fps.
I tried to do some Ha solar for the first time the other day and was only getting 1.7 fps. It's driving me nuts trying to sort it out.
I've not tried to do any capture just preview,
this is just using the supplied cable straight into the usb 3 port on the pc. I've checked the advanced port setting to make sure it's running at high speed. The camera is the only device using usb3 all the other devices are using usb2 ports.
Win10 - i5 3.6ghz - 16gb ram - 2 ssd, 510 read & 490 write
same thing happens if I use the remote setup with a 5 mt active or normal 5 mt cable connected to a usb3 mains powered hub.
