Solar AVI plays back in grayscale

I've only had my S50 for a week, so apologies if this is trivial or has been adressed elsewhere.
There is an ISS solar transit at my location next week, so I've been testing AVI recordings. I've downloaded the MP4 and AVI files directly to a Win10 PC and, while the MP4s played back as previewed during recording, the AVIs display in grayscale with what looks like a flyscreen/mask overlay. Screenshots attached.

A similar problem was reported in https://bbs.zwoastro.com/d/17611-avi-file-saved-by-seestar-wont-play-back-normally , but there did not seem to be a resolution in the post. I've tried several video players and another non-PC devices without improvement, so I don't think it's a codec issue. Siril extracts frames with the same display.

Any suggestions about what the problem is or what I'm doing wrong?

Your video is not passing color, and since your video is in RAW format, you can use PIPP or ASI Studio's video stack mode to process it.

Nothing is wrong alt all and You are not doing wrong anything. This is what we call "debayer". If you want to process the raw video, use Autostakkert or PIPP.

Thanks to you both. The answer was trivial as I suspected, in the sense that it was something that anyone working with these AVIs should have known. I've successfully started experimenting with ASIVideoStack and will try Autostakkert and PIPP in due course.
