Hello ZWO, I have an S50 on order and live in cold temps -10 below 0 to 32 degrees F. Understand about the S50 battery will not recharge due to too cold to charge a Lithium battery, so I am thinking of removing the S50 battery and then plugging in a large battery pack that can supply a USB-C QC 3.0 18 watts or a USB-C PD and 45 watts of power from a battery that's warm inside the house.
I would like to know will having the S50 battery removed and then plugged in my larger and warmer battery unit cause any harm without the S50 built in battery pack removed?
I would not think so as the S50 runs on a 5 volt voltage and the USB-C input can handle 12v 2 amps correct?
Why I am asking so battery devices MUST have the internal battery pack connected at all times, but in this cold the battery & S50 will stop working and if I plug in a USB-C 12V charger the battery will not get recharged due to Lithium battery that cold damages the cells, but will the S50 still keep working and with an errors?
I wished it had a 12v AC adapter connector, so I could remove the 3.7v 6 AH battery pack and power it up externally.
Thank you
Christopher
