You can roll back the firmware on your asiair back to factory through one of its menus when you're connected to it with your controlling device (phone/tablet).
After you've done that your app version on your controlling device has to be uninstalled and an older version of the app needs to be installed. This is because updated firmwares are bundled with updated app versions and if you connect again to your asiair with an updated app it'll inform you to update the firmware on your asiair if it's installed firmware is older (or factory), you do not have an opt out option for this (not to be confused with the opt out option you DO have for the app version you're using).
I have been using older app versions for a very long time as usually a new one will introduce random issues like yours which had previously been working fine.
