Got an S50 a few days ago and I can't update the firmware its stuck on version 2.71. I've searched the net and FB for solutions but nothing has worked. Contacted ZWO and they haven't offered any help yet. The app forces you to update, it shows it transfers and at 2% into installing it has an audible "firmware update failed".
Things I've tried;
Several different phones with android OS version 10 and 14
Un-installed and reinstalled app from play store, using app version 2.2.1 and 2.2.2
Verified Bluetooth is enabled
Telescope battery is fully charged or plugged in
Have good wifi signal from Comcast router
Installed app from apk from website
Restarted internet router and phones
2.4ghz and 5ghz networks
station and non station mode
Disabled internet router and just used phone data signal
Reset wifi on the telescope with button on bottom
Checked internet router firewall for anything blocked
Disconnected and reconnected battery on S50
I'm about ready to send the thing back.
