Best gain settings for ASI224MC on DSOs?

Trying my new ASI224MC on deep sky with my f5 ST102 but am unsure what gain level to use. The longest my az/alt tracking mount will allow is 20 sec subs. Do I need gain 200-300 or much less? M33 is my current target.

Also what file output is best 16bit TIFF or FITs or is 8bit better when taking unbayered data?

I would suggest you can use our latest version ASCOM driver here and select "high gain" button to capture in 16bit format

Thanks Sam but how do I install a RAR file? It wont open on my netbook.
