Hi to all,
I am on a trip in Australia, setup is am5, redcat 51Wfid, Zwo 2600 Mc duo, asiair mini.
For the last two night, couldnt make the mount align and plate solve, it takes 4-5 tries and then cancel. For some stars, plate solving was ok. Very strange.
Guiding absolutely unable to do, got the 30 degrees warning.
Home position is slightly offset in both axes, dont know why, it was perfect before the trip.
Everything worked perfectly before the trip.
Last night I was able to:
- Had to enter coordinate manually after I got no gps message. Did polar align using PA method, but it was like 11 degrees offset then my manual alignment using iphone compass and eyeballing it.
- Mount is tracking, i checked it using focus and cross on the screen.
- I did PA using stars in Orion.
Later, guiding calibration worked on Orion stars, but guiding was vary bad, like 2"
All other objects south, unable to platesolve, when centered manually, guiding was almost not responding. Tried calibration again, took too long, looked like the mount is responding very slow. Guiding turned green but the box was off and unable to make corrections.
Tried to reinstall firmware, still the same.
I am powering asiair through am5, as always, using 12V car socket.
Can it be power problem? Camera is working ok, imaging and guiding sensor, as always.
Cannot figure out is it the mount problem or the camera problem... dont know how to solve the problem, how to eliminate the errors...
The home position shift is the most strange thing.
I am here for 2 weeks more, traveling from Melbourne to Perth, through Nullarbor, and was looking forward to take some nice images of southern skies objects.
One more thing, I put the mount in a metal suitcase in its original bag, in checked luggage. There was not any signes of dented suitcase, so I suppose it was handled normally.
Is the mount too sensitive to put as checked in luggage?
I am so frustrated now ðŸ˜
