I have been imaging for about 14 years and thus have a bit of experience, but I am currently baffled. I use a full set of ZWO ASI equipment, including the ASIAIR Plus, ASI2600M, EFW, EAF, miniguide scope and 2190 camera, on an AM5 mount and carbon-fiber tripod. I use an ASKAR V scope in its 80mm, 600mm focal length configuration, while the guidescope has a focal length of 120mm.
Two nights ago, while running an LRGB series of 300-sec images, the guiding went off the rails immediately following the first ten Lum image
s and ruined the rest of the night's subs. It happened again last night and tonight. One set of subs had some quirky guiding (see attached screenshot), and beginning with the second set, the results were a disaster.
I have carefully checked all the usual suspects, loose locking screws, wire hangs, unbalanced scope, polar alignment, level mount, etc., to no avail. All seems well until it is not.
