Leave Dark Frame Option Checked During Capture?

I am new to using FireCapture and what I don't understand is: do you leave the dark frame option checked after you take the dark frame in order that it be subtracted from each frame during capture? This is not clearly mentioned online anywhere that I have been able to look. If you uncheck the option, it asks whether to keep the frame for later use, but I don't know if that means it will subtract the dark frame automatically.

it will subtract the dark frame if you check this option

otherwise it won't enable it
