I use a C mount video lens (3.6 mm computar) ... see picture joined :

BTW a question to Sam, could you do something in the firmware of the camera to allow (at user decision of course) acceleration of the flux of data in order to get more pixels in the vertical direction than available now for the same Fps ... at the price I guess of some (lossy) compression of the data ?

A factor 2 in Y FOV would bring the ASI174 to the level of the affordable high speed cameras of the market in 2015 (like the FPS1000) and IMHO would boost a lot the success of the color version, the ASI174MC !

Very cool . My thought is to try and catch a hummingbird at a feeder using 'yawcam ' that can be set up as a motion sensor using the ccd .
