Hello Sam and all . I have a few tech questions maybe someone can answer for me .
I have a asi 174 mc that I am using in conjunction with my 115mm mead 6000 series ed apo triplet on a vx mount at my home observatory .
Physical conditions require that my telescope pad be about 40 feet away (12.5 meters) from my lab area .
I am running hc (hand controller) cables and 3.0 video cables for this . I plan to use this

My question is what power the asi camera requires as I can get 120ma's without a power supply .
Would this be enough ? Just thinking of minimizing noise on the signal if I can . It is simple enough to add the power if it is needed .
Has anyone else run this camera on extended usb 3.0 ? I know the asi advise is to not extend it at all
but this is not practical for me and I am sure it can be done if powered and shielded correctly .
As a side note , if you have an avx mount and an asi camera that includes a 6 contact cable for auto guiding , you can buy a 2 dollar in-line coupler for cat5 and use it to extend the ridiculously short HC coil cable .
