I am considering a setup at a remote location which would need to rely on cellular data. It would therefore be important to keep data transfer to a minimum, so I'm trying to clarify a few points:
1)
Is it correct that image data transfer between ASIAir and ASIAir app is only happening as long as the app is actually open and on screen (Android)?
2)
For imaging sessions, when I have preview mode open after an image has been completed I usually see the ASIAir transferring the photo onscreen. This does not seem to happen when I am in the guiding menu. Thus my assumption is that downloading the full image (ASI2600mm Bin1 --> 50MB) only occurs when I am in preview mode or actively trying to view an image in 'Image Management'?
If both points are true, I am thinking of letting the ASIAir app run in the background on my phone at home, and only occasionally open it up to check for guiding, autorun/plan progress … or even download a full image for further examination if really necessary.
Actually I would like to keep it open just in guiding mode to constantly observe the guiding graph, but if I view guiding full screen I would also get a live stream of the guide cam feed (-> probably lots of data consumption) - and if I use the minimized view in Preview mode, each completed image would be transfered automatically.
