level sensor calibration

in the seestar 50, does the level sensor calibration come from the factory already set? i'd hate to do this myself and mess up something that had already been done at the factory. thx for reading

Nothing bad will happen if you do the level calibration yourself, just follow the instructions. It cannot make things worse but there is a chance it will make them better.

You can always do a Level Sensor Calibration yourself, it maybe necessary to carry out a LSC when moving to a new location for shooting. I do this everytime I'm at a new location after check first that the ground is level, run a LSC and then check the Seestars level it should be within 0.0-0.2

You can check if a horizontal sensor calibration is needed. Enter the observation mode and use the control panel to rotate left and right. If the horizontal error value changes significantly during the rotation, it may be caused by incorrect calibration data of the horizontal sensor. You can refer to this tutorial to recalibrate it: https://h5.seestar.com/course/8744 (Make sure to remove the S50 from the tripod and calibrate it on a flat surface).

After calibration, you can rotate the device 90 degrees in the horizontal direction and check the difference in the horizontal values at each position to determine the accuracy of the calibration. Generally, a difference of no more than 2 degrees between the maximum and minimum values is acceptable for daily use.
