Windows XP and ZWO ASI174MM driver

Hi,

Yesterday I received my new ZWO ASI174MM camera. Apart from my new Windows 10 computer with USB3, I planned to operate this camera through my old XP laptop with USB2 as well.

Unfortunately, during installation of the (newest) driver on my Windows XP machine a message was shown:

"This software did not pass the Windows XP logo test."

I ignored this message and completed installation anyhow.

However, the camera, once plugged in, is not recognized and not shown in the device manager. No message "New device found". Camera stays out of order.

Does this mean the ZWO ASI174MM is not compatible at all with Windows XP?

It's quite likely that Win XP is dead for most recent drivers.

I am sure it's compitable with XP

Unfortunately I cannot manually update the driver on my XP laptop, because if I plug the camera in the usb2.0 port, nothing happens. No sound, it does not show up in the device manager. The camera stays dead and is neglected totally by the system, as if it's not plugged in at all.

If I plug the camera in a new Win10 laptop it works fine on both usb2.0 and 3.0 ports as it should do.

I think it must be some physical connection problem with your XP PC

otherwise the PC should react if any USB device connect

the drivers for windows vista business version do not operate on my laptop with the as174mc

connect the camera after installing ZWO drivers gives error message

ERROR during capture, error code =80040209

Any suggestions?

the other laptop is a macbook pro running El Capitan and I note you are still working on the USB issues, any timeframe for new mac drivers?

I think the driver is not installed correct on your vista

there is no time to solve the problem on Mac El Capitan
