Question about judging for Astronomy Picture of the Day

Hey ZWO,
I want to know how the submited pictures are judged in order to receive, or not, the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
In detail, for example, i post pictures captured by me on Astronet. I need also for the pictures, that i think are good enough, to add a hashtag # or something? Or all the pictures that are submited by me on Astronet are seen / reviewed by you and if ZWO stuff thinks that those pictures are eligible for the bagde to give the badge ?

Maic The stars should not have stripes, ovals, or be out of focus. The image should not be over-sharpened and should be delicate. It should not be over-exposed, have obvious noise, or have calibration defects. It should also have a certain level of popularity and be recognized by everyone.
There may be some element of personal judgement in the judging criteria, as the judges screen based on their own experience.

Hey, thanks for the detail explanation. But my main question is how the photos are judged. Are the photos needed to be submited under a certain hashtag # or something ? Or all the photos posted by everyone are judged in some way and selected ?
For example i post on my feed a photo. This is automaticaly posted everywhere on AstroNet and i should consider that is up online for it to be judged ? Or i should add something to it to be identified that i want this photo to be judged for the POD badge. The same as i submit the photos for example for Messier Grand Slam where there it will add a hashtag #MessierGrandSlam ?
