Question: Does ASIAIR Plus exhibit faults when the outside air temperature is too cold? If yes, what temperature?
Background: My ASIAIR Plus works as expected (tracking, guiding, plate solving, GoTo, etc.) with my iOptron CEM 26 mount when the outside air temperature is warm. However, I tried imaging recently when the outdoor air temperature was -7C. Every 5-10 minutes the mount stopped tracking. I could start tracking again using the Tracking On/Off slider switch in ASIAIR Plus app. Also, when the mount was tracking normally, the DEC guiding error would initially be very small (as it normally would be). But, after a while, the DEC guiding error would start increasing, the graph showing a near-constant increasing slope - persisting until I stopped the exposure/guiding. The RA guiding error was steady at about 0.4".
I would like to learn the experiences of other ASIAIR users regarding operating in cold outside air temperatures. Is the ASIAIR sensitive to cold? Does it need to be kept warm when operating in cold temperatures? What is the lowest temperature that it will operate reliably? Thanks.
