WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!!

I have been at this now for over a week and CAN NOT figure this out. I have a 120mm mini cam that the asiair plus will pick up as the guide cam, BUT, I CAN NOT see ANYTHING the scope is pointed at, it's like it's not even on. Also, when I plug it into the pc, it will recognizeit their as well, but NO pic to be seen at all. PLEASE HELP, IM READY TO JUST GIVE UP ON THOS WHOLE THING!!!!!!

s7b36p5Q Hello. You cannot see the guiding screen, but the guiding is normal? We have recently received some feedback that there is no guiding screen when using 120 guide cameras. We plan to fix it.

s7b36p5Q what I did with my guide camera even before connecting it to the ASIAIR was install ASIStudio on my laptop and then plugging the camera in the laptop by daylight. When you do that in AsiStudio you see an application called Asicap. Open it. In this app you can select the camera.

When the camera is selected you can go to “Control” in which you can set the “exposure” and “gain” to automatic (auto). Do that. Now you probably see a uniform white or gray screen. Point the camera (attached to the guidescope) to something in the distance. You probably still see nothing but a white or gray screen. Now depending on the guide scope try to focus the scope. This can often be done by manually moving the camera to and from the guidescope. When you get to see some details stop and lock the camera in place. Now with use of the focusing options of the guidescope try to fine tune the focus. It’s a bit of a chore but you get the hang of it after a couple of tries.

What happens if you switch the 120mm mini to the main camera? Are you getting a white screen? What gain and exposure settings are you using? If your testing in a lighted environment ie daylight or indoors you likely need turn the gain and exposure nearly all the way down.
