So guys, I have an Evolux 62ED with a 0.9x flattener, resulting in a 360mm focal length, paired with an unmodified Canon 1300D DSLR for my astrophotography. My mount is a Star Adventurer GTi, and I use an ASIAIR Mini to plan my sessions.
I use the ASIAIR Mini for polar alignment, but I have encountered two issues that I’d like to discuss and get feedback on:
1) When I complete polar alignment and return my mount to the starting position, if I check my polar alignment again, I see that it has shifted. I am certain that I haven’t accidentally moved the mount or the tripod. Why is this happening? Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Is the polar alignment through ASIAIR reliable?
2) At the end of my photo session—let’s say after 3–4 hours—if I check my polar alignment again, I notice a deviation from the initial alignment when I first did the PA. What could be causing this?
Any thoughts or feedback on these issues? How can I improve my setup?
Thanks a lot!
