Step 1: Always make sure when you setup you do so in the correct Home position (i.e counterweights down, pointing to NCP/SCP). Don't turn the ASIAIR on yet.
Step 2: Turn the mount on. Then, with the App for the Wave 100i (synscan Pro I think) connect to the mount. Using the app check the settings etc for the mount is correct. Also using this app select the option to Home the mount. This makes sure you've set things up correctly and not accidentally put the scope on backwards.
Step 3: With mount in Home position- now turn on the ASIAIR (since ASIAIR sets the Home position in its system when turned on).
It may be that you have to turn the mount off first before turning the asiair on and then turning on the mount once the asiair has booted up and you've logged into it via the ASIAIR App.
Step 4: Now using on the on-screen mount controls in the ASIAIR App- slew to a spot more than 5° away from NCP/SCP. Take 2s exposure in Preview Mode. Tap Plate Solve. If successful tap on Sync in the popup message. If not, adjust focus manually until it's good enough, then repeat. Make sure the spot in the sky has enough stars.
Note: when manually slewing ALWAYS use the on screen mount controls on the ASIAIR App.
Step 5: in asiair app - go to Mount Settings > Home. Check this works correctly.
Step 6: Do polar alignment. When done go to Mount Settings > Home. Then Mount Settings > Sync (if that's still there).
Step 7: Refine focus. Once done go to Mount Settings > Home.
Step 8: Pick an object to go to. Check it works. Then setup guiding etc.
