Last night I had to swap my EAF for one I hadn't used in a while. Upon connecting it and using it the first time, the driver popped up a message telling me I should update the firmware for better cold weather performance, so I downloaded the firmware update tool and did so.
First time it gives me a message like Erase Failed. When I rescan devices now my EAF appears at Boot_51 something instead of EAF. I try the firmware update again on this device, and it works. 20 seconds later it is successful and now appearing as the EAF again. I reconnect to it with my capture software (SGP) and it connects fine, shows the temp, and registers the position at 0. It was previously at 9000+, but ok, I need to re-zero it I figure. I try to move the focuser out, because it won't go in obviously, but it doesn't move at all. I took the remote out to it and plugged in, pressing the buttons either direction results in beeps like it can't move or its stuck. Nothing I do will make this thing move now. Is it a brick? Anybody experienced similar?
Is this kinda thing covered under warranty and if so what's the turn around and experience with ZEO warranty service?
