I received a ZWO EFW 7x2 last Friday to use on my CDK 12.5 as I am going to put my ASI2600MM on it instead of
my ASI2600MC. I own and use a ZWO EFW 5x2 but I wanted to put the LRGB along with my OIII, Ha and SII filters
on the CDK. Put it all together the other night to do a wet run of the system from collimation to taking a bunch of
subs. I run everything remotely from inside as I live at 5500' in a mountain valley in Utah. Fired the system up while it was light out so as to get the mirror at some sort of equilibrium before collimating and then onto collecting subs. I chose NGC 2841 a little something to take advantage of the 2542mm focal length. Set up the sequencer in NINA and hit play. The system collected the 30x120 Lum and it collected 20x120 in what supposed to be Red. The EFW did not rotate nor could I get it to rotate. Gave up and decided to look at it in the morning. Pulled the optical train off of the focuser the next morning and brought it inside and hooked it up to my laptop. Fired up a copy of NINA and connected the camera and EFW. It worked just as it was supposed to and I moved the wheel around quite a bit, no stops, no missed filters. Put it back onto my Scope to wait for last night. It did work just fine while the sun was up and so last night after the sun went down and I got the system up and running I encounter the same issue again as the EFW would not rotate. I switched it out for my EFW 5x2 and put it back into the system and it worked flawlessly all night long. Temp last night did not get below 0 C or 32 F. A lot of the nights during the winter it gets down to -10 C and I have no issues running any of my equipment at those temps. I run or can run 3 rigs at the same time out back depending on what I am feeling that night lol. So I guess I am asking for some guidance as to how to proceed with this not working as intended EFW. Not sure if anyone from ZWO reads these but I am giving it tomorrow before I reach out to Agena who I bought the EFW from to hear from someone at ZWO. This is not an acceptable product at this point.
