Has someone the tool and the firmware to update an ASI120MM USB2.0? I searched on-line and through several forums but I haven't found neither the tool for updating nor the firmware to upload in the camera. It seems no more available in internet. I know that the tool works only on Windows machines but it's something I can handle. Can someone help me to solve this issue?
Are you sure there is firmware update available?
Hi Astrocapture, sorry to be late in answering. I found several posts in internet about a tool to update the camera firmware running on Windows (on Linux it doesn't run). These posts are dated some years ago and mention a standard firmware for asi120 cameras. People that updated the cameras reported a slightly slow-down in performances, anyway acceptable. But now all of this stuff seems no more available. Also the ZWO people seem unaware of all of this.
VzHh1aqw Actually, we do not release the firmware updates for our cameras except old ASI120MM/MC USB 2.0 version, this is only used for some new computers that can not recognize the old camera, if your camera works fine, no need to update it.

@wordle unlimited From my experience with ZWO ASI120MM USB2.0, the firmware tool isn’t publicly hosted anymore, so your best option is to contact ZWO support directly or check their older driver packages, which sometimes still include the updater utility.
Nice to see updates coming to the ASI120MM firmware tweaks can really improve stability during captures. When testing new settings, I usually double check values or run quick calculations in a browser tool instead of switching devices. Something like https://smart84calc.com/ can be handy for fast graphing or verifying numbers while adjusting parameters, especially during longer imaging sessions.
If you’re updating the ASI120MM USB2.0, make sure you’re using the latest firmware tool from ZWO’s official source and follow the steps carefully especially during the driver reinstall, since that’s where most people run into issues. I had a similar hiccup and fixing the USB driver resolved it. On a slightly different note, while troubleshooting I kept track of some values and timing using simple browser tools. I found this handy collection: https://expresscalculator.com/ useful for quick percentage checks or time calculations without installing anything. Might help if you're comparing performance before and after the update.
For ASI120MM USB2.0 update, drivers and firmware tools really matter because they improve stability and image consistency during astrophotography sessions. It’s similar to how accuracy matters in other measurements too. For example, using a reliable gold calculator like https://goldcalculatorr.com/ helps people quickly understand real gold value before selling, keeping estimates clear and consistent.
