Recording coordinates

When imaging a location that isn't in the SkyAtlas is there a way of recording that location so you can return to it exactly at a later time to collect more image data? My suggestion is to add an option in the app to save coordinates for a special location and an option to return to saved coordinates.

98OX3hNA Actually there is a way: once your telescope is pointing to a specific location (i.e. after a GoTo), open the SkyAtlas and tap on the magnifying glass (i.e. Objects), scroll down to "My Favorites", tap on "More" and then tap on "Customize". If you now tap on "Use the current position of Seestar" the app will populate the coordinate fields with the current values. Give the new favorite a name and tap on "Add". That's it.

Of course if you already know the coordinates (in JNow) you can simply enter them directly to create a new favorite.

That’s a great suggestion! Currently, Seestar's app is designed to work with cataloged objects in SkyAtlas, but it would be very useful to have a feature that allows users to save custom coordinates for later imaging sessions.
Possible Workarounds for Now:
Manually Note the Coordinates

When you find a location not in SkyAtlas, check and write down the RA (Right Ascension) and Dec (Declination) displayed in the app.
You can then manually input these coordinates in the "GoTo" function later.
Use a Known Nearby Object

If your target is close to a known object, you can use it as a reference, center the view, and slightly adjust manually.

Until ZWO implements something, the RA/Dec coordinates of the center of the image are stored in the FIT file, so there is a way to repeat the same shot again. Another suggestion is to use the My Favorites feature, where you can not only enter RA/Dec coordinates manually but also memorize the current S50 position. SO if you know you will repeat the shot later you might as well add it to the list.
