When making a plan, frame of Seestar FOV seems oriented according to current time of day in ALT/AZ mode. Is there a way to do plans based on EQ mode framing?

First of all thanks for your flow of innovations.

I image from a balcony pointing North, when the Seestar needs to align it points towards south, which is the balcony of my neighboor above. I have the ASIAIR in my big rig, and it just rotates around RA axis 60deg pointing north. Is there a similar way to get the Seestar to get its alignent ? Or to a location of my choice within acceptable boundaries ?

Hi, haven't had a chance to test EQ out as of yet (clouds), but whilst I await clear skies, may I ask whether SUN and MOON goto (initial using compass), tracking and auto-entering still work when in EQ mode; and if so; do you still need to be (roughly) polar aligned to use SUN/MOON mode in EQ?

Asking just so people can know whether they need to unalign (ie remove tilt-head/wedge) and return to Alt/Az before doing SUN/MOON.

This is a great addition…however. I used the framing/mosaic mode with the equatorial mode and the Seestar S50 would not include the objects as framed. It worked ok with the Alt-Azm mode. This was tried while tilting the frame and enlarging the area to be captured. Does the star map have to be in the equatorial mode as well? If so how?
It would be nice to be able to type in a name for unknown objects the Seestar Map does not recognize. I do a lot of odd star clusters that are not NGC objects and even some asteroids that are not framed correctly on the Seestar Atlas.

Support@Seestar hi for EQ mode what part of the sky is used for horizontal calibration? My north and northwest are mostly blocked by trees and buildings.
I like the app changes. Great job, wow.

Very grateful for the update, thank you.
My only piece of feedback is that I preferred the weather widget like it was. Tutorial menu now takes its place with info that is very quickly not needed and the at-a-glance weather is now something we have to scroll through.

Otherwise, the app experience is really really good.

Support@Seestar yes, I am aware 🙂. Before I did not have to do anything and every information was there. Now I have to pull down and scroll through screens to get the same info. And what I get in return are tutorials which I have already seen 🙂.

This is not a big issue. But just decided to share.

Support@Seestar The weather/visibility as it was is far more useful than having the Tutorial section amplified in size. Ability to monitor visibility whilst conducting imaging is far more important than the Tutorials. Please change it back

mlin i understand why it's moved to the top. The icon and % gives you a quick detail without opening the weather information. So I'll probably get used to it. But what could be done is increase the height of the popup as we now have to scroll to get the last part of the information.

I also like the possibility to add/set the location in the upper left.

Tnx for the EQ mode something new for me to test.

Hi, firmware and app updated with no issues. Daytime here, does the scope need a clear view of Polaris to polar align or can it be done with a obstructed view of the northern star ?

You don't need to align the exact North Star, you just need to have the wedge aligned to one of the tripod legs, which needs to be facing north. Just follow the instructions for the rest.

VN177MBI You can go online and look for a suitable Wedge, as long as the weight capacity is above 5kg. We will be selling them on the shelves afterwards, but it will take some time.

This firmware update works fine on my Android phone to use EQ mode but not on my iPad. The firmware
updates but EQ mode is not available, the iPad is a Pro 2nd Generation which is not updatable to version 18 IOS firmware.
My wifes iPad is newer and is updatable to IOS 18 and when I load the updated Seestar app onto it the EQ mode is available.
The obvious answer would be that the EQ mode is only supported on IOS 18 but is there any official information available from ZWO about older firmware iPads firmware because I also use the Asiair and I'd like to know before I sell my old iPad Pro and splash out on a new one?

Looks amazing! Can't wait to try it out.

2 quick questions:

1) I have my mount ready and with the added weight it feels very stable even at a 51 degree angle. Is it ok to keep my rig stored tilted, or would this compromise the gears and fittings in any way.
2) I see the exposure options remain 10'', 20'' and 30'' as before. Will there be longer exposure times available in the future for EQ mode?
