talktogreg Maintaining the connection is also related to the mobile phone system, which is inconsistent with the needs of each user. As for the need to stop the app in the mobile phone system to truly close the app, we will consider whether it can be modified.
Same here. Have to force kill the app on one device in order to gain control from another.
-fls- Feedback on that. It worked ! 🙂
Note: I launched a plan then and S50 was not able to go to the first target. So stop the plan and I searched by my self an object. It fixed it. Then I was able to launch my plan.
Hi Guys can I ask a question please i have the S50 and use it EQ mode (it did latest update last night ) 04/11/25 now it find it targets well but not the moon ? We had nice moon last night but 6 times I asked it to find it but no luck , I didn't want to change from EQ then go back to EQ after , so as we don't do compass calibration in EQ other than switching out of EQ or manually finding the moon Any ideas please Neil from UK
I wonder if there are any updates for balcony stargazers regarding EQ mode polar alignment. I am quite unlucky with my balcony facing south and the top balcony obstructing the zenith. I tried offsetting the initial rotation of my seestar as suggested by users in this thread, but I am unable to make if point into the unobstructed sky. Any hints? Thanks.
Support@Seestar since update after first use. Eq mode isn’t working and the open arm button always says close arm?
Suggestions.
AstroJohn s30
AstroJohn We have fixed this issue in the next version 2.5, which will be updated soon. Please wait patiently. You can enter the Scenery mode and click the right joystick to slide up to open the arm manually. Regarding polar axis calibration, it is recommended that you keep it level and avoid interference from magnetic materials.
does it need to be shut down manually? Did you turn off the option to shut down after 15 minutes of inactivity?
Hi! Why is there no opening function when folded?
6426649 We will fix this issue in the next version V2.5, thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for keeping our equipment up-to-date and for the good communication with users; it's very important.
I'd like to see a fix in the next version for the app "stopping" when you close it, rather than staying in the background.

Could you confirm that ZWO is working on a firmware update for the requirement to view the zenith as part of the EQ/Polar align? After waiting 20+ days for EQ wedge and bolt adapter to arrive, I’ve just now realized I have the same balcony issue as many others have pointed out (thank you Jon for fully explaining in earlier posts). Balcony use is my only option as I live in the city and this was the primary reason I purchased the Seestar to begin with (s30). I’m sure many are in the same position. With built-in GPS and plate solving, it seems that polar alignment could be achieved in most any direction with the correct calculations built in. This would be helpful for all users (not just those with balconies) for a quicker/easier setup (e.g. the Seestar would be even more appealing to all that aren’t familiar with concept of polar alignment = more sales!). Thank you for all of the help!
do you think to build a seestar s 50 with a monochromatic sensor and a filterwheel?
How do I know which version of a product it is, global or for the Chinese market?
6426649 You can't activate Chinese version outside China. If it already works then it doesn't matter.
Seestar30gr Thank you for your detailed feedback! We fully understand the special needs of balcony users for the polar axis alignment feature, especially the limitations of urban observing scenarios. The team is currently planning a firmware update, but the exact timing of the update has not yet been determined, thank you for your patience and support of the Seestar S50!
