I have a friend that is using ZWO's AM5 mount (not the AM5N) and the ASIAIR controller at a remote observatory in Texas. He controls it with an iPad through the ASIAIR app which is in Utah.
His problem is that the mount and ASIAIR seem to be getting location coordinates and also the time and date from the iPad in Utah. Every time he powers the mount and ASIAIR down at the observatory (using remote power plugs) and later starts them up for another session, latitude and longitude have been reset and he has to manually re-enter the coordinates again. Not the end of the world but it is a pain. Additionally, the date and time seem to be pulled from the iPad so time is off by an hour. Doesn't seem to be a way to change the time. Seems to me like this will skew his object goto accuracy by 15 degrees caused by the hour time difference. Not sure if his plate solving will work with that much error.
All this being said, is there a way to make the mount and ASIAIR default to their actual location/time in Texas?
