![May I know if it is reasonably practical for me to use EQ mode? When I tried to switch it from Alt/Az, it seems like it the whole setup may tip over or the tripod base may crack. Any advice? Will using a proper wedge help instead of the ball head I’m currently using?

You need a tripod with longer legs than the one that comes with the S50. If the opening of the legs is adjustable enlarge the base of the tripod as much as possible. If you have access to a 3D printer you may want to consider a secondary tripod to support the top of the telescope. Something like this:

You could also try one of my fixed 3D printed wedges at https://www.printables.com/model/1228846-fixed-equatorial-wedge-for-zwo-seestar-s50 there is one for every latitude, including yours.

Thanks so much for the advice. I can deal with the tripod stability as I’m not using the standard S50 leg. Bigger concern is the stress on the mount connection. Do you have a photo of your actual 3d wedge setup that you can share for my better understanding ? and also, is there an easier way to know which 3d file for 2° lat? Many thanks!

@starnet59 I found the picture and the file already. pls disregard my query above. thank you!
