I have an ASIAIR Plus 256, 533 mono camera and an AM3 mount. I'm using a 5A ZWO psu for the ASIAIR
I understand that the 533 cannot be powered in cooled mode with the ASIAIR which is fine so that has its own PSU.. but I cant power the mount from the ASIAIR either. Even if I remove the camera, guider, focuser etc from USB and just plug the ASI air in with only the mount powered from the 12V out connectors, it just shuts the mount down after a few seconds for low power.
Do the 12V out sockets serve any real purpose? I thought powering the mount was pretty much the most important thing to use them for, but it seems I need THREE 5A 12V PSUs to power the mount, ASIAIR and camera.
Am I alone in this, or is this the normal state of things?
