The ASIair is quickly becoming a prefered method of many users operating at remote observatorys. Because of this there are a few features that would greatly improve the ASIair software for remote work as well as for those just operating out of their back yard. Here are the most requested features at the remote observatory that I am operating out of.
- We need the ability to set and save remote location Lat/Long coordinates in the ASIair app. Currently the ASIair does not save the last used Lat/Long coordinates after shutdown.
- We need the ability to set/save filter offsets, so that so much imaging time is not wasted with the focusing routine when making filter changes.
- We very much would like the ability to run multiple Plans, with different Start/Stop times for shooting multipule targets in the same night, particularly, when one target sets before the other target rises. Being able to run 2 or more different Plans with diffrent Start/Stop times would be a real game changer with the ASIair software.
- Less important, but a nice feature - Being able to copy a Target sequence from one Plan to another Plan.
Thank you for your consideration. I currently operate 2 setups at the Starfront Observatory. One RedCat61, ASIair PLus 256, ASI2600MM Pro, ZWO CAA, ZWO EAF, ZWO EFW, ZWO ASI220 guide cam with a Williams Optic guide scope The second rig is a Celestron Edge 9.25, ASIair Plus 256, ASI2400MC Pro, ZWO OAG-L with ZWO ASI174 guide cam, ZWO EAF, ZWO EFW - Both setups are operated through use of an OpenVPN network. The ease of operating all of the ZWO equipment through the ASIair in this type of remote setup has been fantastic! I hope you will consider these recomendations for the ASIair software as I know it will be much appreciaed to those operating remotely and to the growing number of people who are discovering the ability the ASIair gives them in a remote dark sky setting.
Thank you for your consideration
