Hello,
I couldn't get better colors with the intrusive gibbous Moon, but the camera was able to detect some peripheral extensions and subtle gradients, that's a performance given the brightness of the sky!
Luminance with two series of exposures in Halpha and colors with short exposures.
The ASI120MM was attached to the filter wheel and an 180-mm telelens with a DIY 42-mm adapter.
Darks were only for 30-s, H-alpha exposures. No autoguiding nor cooling, by chance the f/2.3 telelens is very fast.
Gain 60% for all frames.
A veeery cold night = limited thermal noise.
The final colors are rather fancy. A OIII filter might be a good solution in place of the CCD blue filter.
Fortunately the ASI120MM(/C) has a depth of 12.5mm only, giving some margin if the lens has little remaining backfocus when a filter wheel is inserted.
Nicolas.
