ASI 120 MM/MC-S or ASI 224 ?

Hi all,

I would like to see some comparo between those cameras : ASI 120MM-S or MC-S and ASI 224 in order to decide if I keep the 120s or it is a better choice to upgrade for the 224 ?

(Note that I also have a 174MM)

Possible fields involved :

planetary (color)

Lunar (color & BW)

Solar H-alpha details (BW)

DSOs (color)

BTW this is my first trial with the 120MC and m42 with "rubber bands attached*" Nikkor 300 mm FD 2.8 @ 2.8 on unguided LXD75

Darks subtracted (5x) within FireCapture 2.5.02

No visible amp-glow I guess ...

224 is the best color planetary imaging camera so far

I would like to know more about the 224 : FPS possibilities in function of ROI at all available bit dynamics.

What is the FPS in 8 bits with a small size ROI (like 192 pixels in height) ?

Nothing about this on the camera site ..

here is a speed we tested

10bit ADC / 12bit ADC

1304×976 150fps / 64fps

1280×960 152.4fps / 65fps

800×600 241.2fps / 102.9fps

640×480 299.4fps / 127.6fps

320×240 577.9fps / 256.4fps

Speed can go further than 1000 FPS with a small section (about 100 pixel high, width can be large)...
