Why does the S50 create an MP4 when Shooting in RAW mode

When capturing a RAW AVI file, I access the S50 storage to find that an unwanted or selected MP4 file has been created, for example I captured the Sun using time lapse (RAW) so that I could stack using ASI Studio, when I accessed the S50 there was my AVI file as well as an MP4 file. That seemed to have been automatically created by the S/ware without any user input ?.

The MP4 was present within the "My Works" "Solar" folder, on the S50 & if I select the "Solar" folder to move to my PC all contents would be transferred to my PC, when I assessed My Works / Solar using video stack in "Studio" there was the MP4 file.

What i was getting at was, when you take a video, typically the Seestar sends an MP4 of that video to your mobile device. I would think that after it creates the mp4 and sends it to your device, the remaining file in My Works is just there because it had to be created for that purpose. If all you need is the AVI file, you should be able to delete the MP4 if you wish.

I understand your comment with regard to the MP4 being created, but as the S50 along with Studio will only stack AVI files, to create a final image the creation of an unsolicited MP4 is somewhat surplus to requirements, as it not only consumes storage space, it also consumes battery power & processor time.
