is there some way to delete flats if you decide not to use them. can turn off the flats feature?
Not to my knowledge right now, but hope ZWO sees the advantage in it being possible one day in the future.
It cannot be deleted. It can only be replaced by shooting a new flat field.
so, do the flats you take the first time replace flats already in seestar ... or are they brand new flats?
Reshooting will replace the original one.
