However, switching between different screens in the app (such as the main window vs. the photo progress window) only affects the display on your mobile device—it doesn't influence the power consumption of the Seestar unit itself. The WiFi module on Seestar remains active as long as the device is on and connected, unless it is completely powered down or enters a hardware-level sleep mode (which is currently not supported).
To truly extend battery life, we recommend the following:
Use an external power bank if possible,
Avoid unnecessary slewing or movement of the mount,
Limit excessive long-exposure attempts, which can cause the motors to work harder,
In cold environments, take precautions to keep the device warm, as low temperatures can reduce battery efficiency.
Also, just for your information, Seestar has a built-in feature where it automatically powers off if no imaging task is started within 15 minutes. You can try this to help conserve battery when not actively using the device.
