I'm trying hard to get this to work. At the A-P support guy's suggestion I selected the CP2 controller, even though I'm using the CP4 and that got me going at least. I thought I had the home position problems resolved but the last time I tried to use it, it behaved erratically and I had to stop it. My biggest issue now is that I'm getting lousy focus out of the EAF. I can confirm this with a Bahtinov mask and the poor focus is cumulative and results in egg shaped stars. If I don't use EAF, I can manually refocus every few images and keep everything good, but if I let it go, the tracking gradually increases. This would indicate that my focus is gradually changing, but it doesn't really explain why EAF can't bring it to a sharp focus initially. If I just let it go with EAF, it seems to reach a point where it stops expanding and just stays egg shaped. If I zoom in on it early in the run, the initial shape looks like two stars connected by a short line. If I let it continue it seems to fill in and be a more solid egg, something you might expect to see if it were tracking back and forth. None of this seems to make any sense to me.
I'm imaging with a C11 SCT, using a Starizona .6x corrector, an Askar OAG, Starizona filter drawer and an ASI183MC.
