2.4.p to 2.4.1 definitely made autofocus very buggy. Seeing strange behavior on two ASIAir Pluses and different setups. I would send logs, but none are collected when you manually initiate autofocus.

I hope ZWO are looking into this.

The PA Routine in Firmware 2.4.1 is not working with newest Celestron HC Controller Firmware HC:Gem 5.35.3179 or .3177. It has nothing to do with the newest Asiair Firmware 2.4.1 because the Problem was not fixed with 2.4.1. Only Celestron HC controller with older firmware releases are running without problems with Asiair. I checked it with 3 different CGX and CGX-L mounts and different HC controller firmware releases in combination with the latest Asiair Firmware.

I hope Zwo will fix the PA problem with Celestron Cgx and cgx-mounts with the latest handcontroller Firmware 5.35.3179 in one of the next AsiAir firmware releases. Celestron does nothing the last two years to fix this PA AsiAir problem. When you use one of the latest Celestron hand controller Firmware versions 5.35.3179 or .3177 you always have the PA Problem with every AsiAir Firmware. The problem must be fixed.

This is starting to get annoying. If I use version 2.3.3, I can't use the EAF (Device Abnormal), and if I use 2.4.1, the plate solve takes forever. So I have no choice but to use 2.3.3 on the tablet and 2.4.1 on the smartphone.
Could you please release a stable version now?

Javier_Covancho Have you tried the new plate solve to see if it makes a difference? And is yours one of the new EAF models?

The plate solve issue is very aggravating. I have sent logs, and it doesn't get fixed. This was a feature that worked fine for years, and suddenly it is broken. What kind of testing protocol is there that let's software out like this? It's a basic feature and one can't run an imaging session without it.

ASIAir 2.4.1 is still so broken that it is unusable.

I'm just another customer, but in the beta I encouraged them not to rush to release and they actually responded that they wouldn't. So they said. And then they did.

2.4.1 was broken badly for me. I use a big scope - 3,000mm focal length - with ASI2600MC DUO, the field of view is a little under 0.5 degree.

Plate solving was totally broken (the OLD method worked fine). I had to use Preview mode and slew manually to a target.
Using AUTORUN on 1 target 30 subs x 180 secs, it would do a few subs then a hard crash requiring power-off-restart; basically unusable. Went home with maybe 10 subs total after 4 hours on the field.

Also it attempted a meridian flip at a totally stupid time with the scope approx 30 degrees from the meridian - I had to stop it manually to avoid crashing the scope and camera against the tripod.

OK I now have 2.4.9 and firmware 12.03 installed.

The last stable version 2.3.3 has been re-released for iOS as 2.4.9 in TestFlight.

Hello,
Of course there's a big difference with Plate Solve, which is why I'm using version 2.3.3.
And my EAF is the older model, a model that always worked until recently when it started giving "abnormal device" messages. I thought the focuser was broken, but then I found it worked fine with 2.4.1.
So my best option is to have 2.3.3 on the tablet for fast plate solve and 2.4.1 on the smartphone for autofocus.

Before the update my Asiair Plus worked fine. Now I am having a terrible time with PA not working, I eventually get aligned over more than an hour, previously it was a 5-10min job. The guiding is atrocious. It seems a repeat of 2024's update, same issues.

ColVR yeah i had to do a previous install for the 2024 update to a pre2.2 release and stopped any firmware/software updates. back in late june this year bought a 2600mcpro wasnt able to use till the day before the 2.4 update and was forced to do the 2.3 one night and it was crap, then the next night 2.4 forced update hit and it was even worse. Im losing reason to continue buying zwo products.

Well this is a new one. My ASIair keeps indicating an update available for my AM3. But every time it does it the AM3 is on the same version it was before, which is 1.7.3. Makes me think there's an upgrade for the AMx pending that they haven't posted correctly? I checked that section before and it never listed an upgrade. This is new in the last day or so.

Like many other users I updated to v2.4.1, First light with my new camera : slewing to the Heart nebula - the mount slewed but nowhere near my intended object, put it back to the home position, switched everything off & back on, slewed to the Heart nebula again - no where near yet again. repeated the process ( off and back on but this time went to the Crescent nebula - again - NOWHERE NEAR!
ALL of my settings are correct - BTW I have the AA+ & AA mini - both with latest 2.4.1 & BOTH with the same issue.
I have NEVER had issues like this before so it's a bug in the 2.4.1 update, what I would like to know and indeed I guess many others who have bought you're products - who the hell in the ZWO team tries out any updates prior to their release?!
I have read through all of the posts in this thread and one thing which is clearly evident : We cannot fail to notice the absence of any responce from ZWO - is it because you have to "yet again" admit there is at least another bug?
there are many on this thread reporting the same plate solve issue and we have yet to get a response.
At present - Your product is not fit for purpose.

watcheroftheskies I even emailed the contact on the beta discussion who supplied a personal email address for uploading/sending files. Said the silence here really puts ZWO in a bad light. Clearly that didn't impress either. That email address is still there....hint...hint....

According to the "i" page in ASIAir, the developer is "Dream Partners", not ZWO.

Been frustrated by another issue, albeit not one that directly affects imaging. Viewing saved images off ASIair storage is a hit or miss issue whether the image actually displays. More miss than hit. Usually exiting out to the main screen and going back in solves the problem, but sometimes I have to close down the app, swipe it away, then restart it. I never have to restart the ASIair. The effect on imaging might be difficulty pulling up an image to use it to slew and adjust rotation, but more of an indirect than direct impact.

R0k9pZfT I'm also seeing where viewing stored images sometimes will randomly show you one from the wrong folder. Rare, but it happens when scrolling through images.
