No matter what I try, I cannot shoot a sucessful flat with my Seestar S50. I've tried the white paper method as well as the White screen on an ipad or iphone method, and every time I get "Flat Shoot Failed" "Please point the Seestar at a unifrom light source and retry"
I was very careful to make sure the ipad/iphone didn't move at all while trying to shoot the white screen.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?
I did the hot pixel correction last night and that worked without any issues.
I'm wondering if there might be an issue with my imaging chip as I did have a mishap earlier this year where I was imaging the sun and my home-made white light filter fell off and it was shooting the sun unprotected for a short period of time, but as far as I can tell, it seems to still be imaging okay. I've since been capturing solar images (with a more secure filter) and I've captured images of the moon and other deep-sky objects and they seem fine. I haven't noticed any issues either wtih any dark spots or blown out pixels. I compared my solar images with another Seestar S50 just the other day and they looked pretty much the same.
Anyway, I still was thinking it might be good to recalibrate the flats, but I just can't get it to work.
