Hi,
I'm aware that this is not the first time a similar question has been made; however I have still some doubts.
The AM5N has two power connectors. One on the main body of the mount labeled as "12" on the user guide with the following description:
DC 12V5A: Power Input Interface. It requires a 12V power supply with a current rating
between 3A to 5A and a DC connector [...]
Normally the power connectors have labeled the nominal voltage needed and the max amperage the device can draws. In this case a label with "12V 5A" is printed which should mean 12V is required and can draw 5A max.
The power port on the dec saddle (17) description is:
DC12V 3A: can power AM5 as well as provide power to external devices like the ASIAIR.
Which leads to me to some questions:
- Feeding the mount by that port (17) needs less amperage than the other one? why?
- How much current can provide the mount if the port is used to feed other devices? (I read somewhere >3A, but don't know the max)
- Just out of curiosity; what would happen if, by accident, the mount is connected to two power supplies at the same time?
Regards
