AM5 not responding after AsiAir update

Today I wanted to start a session but the AsiAir prompted me to do an update. While the update was going I noticed the brake on the AM5 going on and off a few times, which never happened before during an update.

After the AsiAir restarted the Mount was not connected and nothing I tried helped. I got the HC and tried to connect with the SkyAtlas but the WLAN from the AM5 disconnected after just a few seconds every time. I managed to go into the Handcontroller menu eventually but no data from the mount itself was shown. It is completely unresponsive, does not move with HC stick and connecting with the PC did not work either.

Did the Asiair update brick my AM5? What to do? How can I fix this?

To add some more details. The AM5 power button lights up when pressed but no sound from the brakes, no status light. The wlan from the hc is on and off every few seconds. To me it seems it is stuck in a boot loop, probably because the firmware is now corrupt.
The mount had worked flawlessly on pretty much every clear night since 2022. I was using it just 3 days ago with a different telescope and different AsiAir. due to the full moon I was using my narrowband telescope with another Asiair which had not been updated yet. When the update was done everything was connected and the issues described above happened. There is no logfile in the Asiair for the update and I can provice no other logfiles as there is no connection to the AM5 at all.

I now have a bricked AM5 because of an AsiAir update. I can only recommend to disconnect everything before an AsiAir update in future.

You could try to directly connect the mount via USB to a PC and use the ASCOM AsiMount app.

I tried, no connection. The mount is dead. It does not start up anymore. no clicking from the brakes, no status light. only the power button turns on.

Trying to connect to ASCOM from wlan/HC it times out, trying with USB I can't select anything.

Have you logged a support ticket with ZWO here https://support.zwoastro.com/ ?

If not - do so. Also check if it's stil under warranty. Did you buy from a store or from ZWO directly? If from a store (such as high point scientific) get in touch with the store and see if they can replace it?
