Capturing the Moon with Zwo Asiair

Hello friends, there is a lunar eclipse coming up and I want to use the ZWO ASIAIR with the ZWO 071MC. However, even at the shortest exposure, I can’t get efficient lunar photos, and I don’t want to use a computer. My computer is very old and has power issues. Is there a special setting in ASIAIR for taking photos of the Moon? Thank you.

Hi Tayfun,

Use "Video" mode in ASI Air. There you can make any adjustments you need to get good videos of the Moon. That's what I use and it works great! You will have several adjustments you can make including "BIN". It's all pretty much self explanatory. Best thing to do is to just play around with the "Gain" setting and the "Exposure" setting. Then you can also adjust the color levels to get the look you need. Take a bunch of short videos and when you get done with them you can run them through the ASI Studio App. Drop your videos on the ASIVideoStack sub App and make the appropriate adjustments to the settings and you should end up with some pretty nice images of your Moon. This is also the same routine you would use if you were wanting to get images of any of the Planets.
