I’ve owned the S30 for almost five months and love it. Here is my wish list:
Sleep mode – If there is no user activity on the Seestar, it should first enter sleep mode and only shut down later. Add an option to remain in sleep indefinitely, so a physical button press isn’t required in the middle of the night.
Plan start/end time – Allow editing the start and end times of an existing plan to avoid recreating and reframing, which may alters the composition slightly.
Discard cloudy images – Automatically detect and discard frames obscured by clouds or foreground obstructions to save storage space. Current workflows already drop some unusable frames; expanding this to cloud/obstruction detection would help.
AI denoise and star reduction – Integrate star-size reduction comparable to common third‑party tools, with an option to remove a user-defined percentage of stars.
4K in planning mode – Extend the 4K live view to planning mode
AI fix for sensor tilt – Some Seestar S30 users show a top‑of‑frame tilt/defocus issue. Provide an AI-based correction pass to compensate for mild tilt artifacts during stacking or post-processing. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/960274-seestar-s30-pro/page-5
